The short version: I use analytics to see what content resonates. No ads, no data sales, and you can opt out.

Analytics

This site uses PostHog for analytics. It tracks things like page views, scroll depth, and time on page to help me understand what content is useful. PostHog also records sessions (with form inputs masked) to see how people navigate the site.

None of this data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising. It's just me, looking at what resonates so I can write better.

Newsletter

The newsletter is powered by Buttondown. If you subscribe, your email is stored there. Buttondown tracks open rates and link clicks to help me understand engagement. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click.

Hosting

This site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel logs standard request information—IP addresses, user agents, timestamps. This is standard infrastructure stuff, not something I actively analyze.

Cookies

If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog will set cookies to track your session across pages. If you decline, no tracking cookies are set—the only cookie stored is your consent preference itself.

You can change your preference anytime using the link.

Your Rights

If you want to know what data I have about you, want it deleted, or have any questions, just email me at mat@convivialtools.org. I'm a real person, not a corporation with a legal department.
